Description:	This is a presentation transcript for Structures and Materials : Section 7 : stress concentration. It introduces stress concentrations produced by discontinuities in structures such as holes, notches, and fillets. The stress concentration factor is defined and the concept of fracture toughness is also introduced. This open educational resource was released through the Higher Education Academy Engineering Subject Centre Open Engineering Resources Pilot project. The project was funded by HEFCE and the JISC/HE Academy UKOER programme.
